Central Perk Friends are the Best in Estherville? I know – it almost sounds like a cheesy sitcom from the 90’s. Regardless, Central Perk is your go-to place in Estherville Iowa if you are looking for great coffee, incredible desserts, and yummy lunches.
Start your day off by grabbing a cuppa with a pick of their freshly baked goods – there is no better way to start your day! (Unless you are like me and prefer a smoothie – their Strawberry-Mango rocks!) Maybe try the chocolate/raspberry latte? Doesn’t that just sound like a warm hug in a mug?
Great Treats Make Central Perk Friends Happy!
Being wheelchair accessable, everyone can access this clean and friendly atmosphere that makes you want to return so soon after your first visit. we hit it twice on one day, for drinks on the go and then came back later for lunch. You are greeted right at the door with a whimsical and unique message board that proudly touts the specials.
When you consider that this is in addition to the fantastic offerings that they already have? You should start drooling almost instantly. Are you vegetarian? No worries – they have plenty of options for non-meat lovers, although the pot roast grilled cheese comes highly recommended. Every where you look there are delightful touches that can’t help but make you smile.
As I am writing this, it is a gray and dreary day and I wish I was at the Central Perk Coffee shop, in one of the wingback chairs in front of their fireplace. It gives it the place a certain ambiance and probably makes you stay longer than you would expect to. I would be nursing a warm drink, playing on their free wifi…
Now let’s talk about the food. Seriously the best food and dessert I let pass across my lips when I was in Estherville. Keep in mind that this isn’t fast food – like many expect nowadays, but each sandwich is lovingly made to order. “All good things take time,” and this is the case with the food at the Central Perk Coffee Shop.
For lunch I chose the berry salad with the poppyseed dressing and half a Monica sandwich. (Ok, that made me giggle and was the reason I ordered it – they even have a Rachel Latte and a Smelly Cat special) That delightful gem had turkey, provolone cheese, cranberry sauce and the kicker that set it off to perfection: cream cheese. I opted for it hot, grilled in a panini press. That plate of drool worthy food was not only filling, but just $6.99.
Oh. My. Stars.
We were blessed with an assorted tray of cookies and bars for dessert – and while the cookies are great, the bars were even better. If you are only stopping in for a quick treat and drink – go with one of the bars. Each one I tasted was better than the last – seriously! You know I am a professional chef who had my own restaurant – and that makes me pretty picky. My new friend Nikki was sitting next to me and her Asian salad might have been even better than mine – and she went gluten free on her sandwich. Because you can as they take care of more than vegetarians.
The bottom line? Your Central Perk Friends will love this Coffee Shop! It is a lovely little place with excellent service and is undoubtedly somewhere that you should consider if you are looking for where to eat in Estherville. It is a great place to have a date, a casual eat out with friends, or a hangout with work colleagues because not only does it provide a conducive environment for all sorts of gatherings, it offers a diverse range of meals that would match the needs of everyone and anyone.
It even has an outdoor setting, which is an absolute delight for many of its customers who are like me on a nice day – I love to sit outside and people watch. Sadly, in the midwest, we have a limited time to enjoy a patio – so plan your trip well.
