The Best Things to do In Philadelphia with Kids:

This entire museum is dedicated to one of America’s most famous forefathers, the great Benjamin Franklin. Here you can find artifacts and other displays that tell of Benjamin Franklin’s life. These are not only educational and hands-on displays but also fun for families of all ages.
Independence National Historical Park
If you want to see a slice of history, you don’t want to miss Independence National Historical Park. Here you’ll get to see the Liberty Bell Center, Congress Hall, and so much more! This park is known as America’s most historic square mile, and during the summer months, you can even take a walking tour.
Once Upon a Nation
If you are looking to make this a learning experience, consider stopping by Philadelphia’s Historic District. You’ll find 13 outdoor benches with free historical stories of the history of Philadelphia. There are star stamps your kids can collect while visiting the benches, and if they collect them all, they can earn a free ride on the carousel at Franklin Square.
One Liberty Observation Deck
Located 57 floors above ground, you can get great views of the Philadelphia skyline. This is one of the tallest standing attractions in all of Philadelphia, and visit one of the listening stations to learn more about the surrounding area.
If you are looking for something historic, and also something the whole family will enjoy, consider stopping by the Philadelphia Zoo. This zoo has over 1,000 animals, including some rare and endangered species as well. This is America’s first zoo and one the best conservation organizations in the region.
If you have a little Sesame Street fan in your home, then you don’t want to miss this theme park! Sesame Place has a water park, rides. Parades, and more all themed Sesame Street! Your kids can meet Big Bird, the Cookie Monster, Elmo, and more!
Spruce Street Harbor Park
Spruce Street Harbor Park is a must see place to visit. There are bars for Mom and Dad to enjoy, a park, concessions, and cargo container arcades for the kids.
Please Touch Museum
If you are traveling with younger children, I highly suggest that you consider making the Please Touch Museum a stop on your list! There are two floors of exhibits where your children can enjoy the hands-on fun! If you are looking for a cheap admission, consider going between 4pm-7pm on Wednesdays and get in for only $2!
You don’t need a lot of cash or a lot of time to see all the sights that Philadelphia has to offer. If you visit one or a few of these attractions, your family vacation will be one the whole family will be talking about for years to come. Make sure you plan a little time for Hershey PA too!
