Which Chicago Festivals to Hit
Festivals are Chicago’s thing and many of their festivals are duplicated before never like Chicago. I have a passion for doing the original festivals in Chicago. There are some good festivals in Chicago. Mostly notable are the Taste of Chicago, Chicago Summer Dance, Chicago World Music Festival , Chicago Air & Water Show and Lollapalooza.
Where To Stay When You Visit
Chicago’s Magnificent Mile is the hot spot to stay. It offers the ultimate Chicago experience by being in the midst of it all in Downtown Chicago. There are over seventy hotels to select from and one for every budget. My top three hotels to choose from are as follows:
Save money now with the Chicago CityPASS, Adult, ages 12+The Sheraton Grand which is located at 301 East North Water Street. This is one of my radar selections because it sits near the river and provides gorgeous night views of the city lights. The Sheraton Grand is also in walking distance to the Loop business district, Navy Pier, Millennium Park and the famous Magnificent Mile shopping district.
The James Chicago is simply breathtaking. This luxury boutique hotel has all the bells and whistles from The Spa By Asha to a Prime House on site. It is also near many museums and great shopping. The rooms and suites have a home decor feel and that make you want to nestle right in. Located at 55 Ontario you can have car service or the train take you just about anywhere within the Magnificent Mile.
Got kids? Save money with the Chicago CityPASS, Child, ages 3-11The Chicago Marriott Downtown is also a great place to stay and a part of the Magnificent Mile. This Marriott is very swanky with it’s decor and sits at 540 North Michigan Avenue near many of Chicago’s top attractions such as American Girl, fine theaters, great museums and more.
What To Do in the Windy City
Load up on great Chicago fun such as everything the Chicago Go Card, the Chicago City Pass or Groupon to enjoy the fun at even better rate. My favorite recommendations are as follows:
- Skydeck Chicago is located 1,353 feet up in the air on the 103rd floor of the Willis tower and has some of the most amazing views of Chicago. They have some awesome date night packages as well. Skydeck is located at 223 South Wacker Drive.
- The Navy Pier is also a favorite. One hundred plus years old this Navy Pier still attracts the masses whether tourist or not. There is so much to enjoy here from cruises to seafood to yoga and more. Located at 600 East Grand Avenue you must make a stop.
- Archurtech River Cruise is a win-win as well. This offers amazing insight of the architectural history in Chicago.
