5 Underrated/Unheard of Theme Parks in The U.S.

With Summer approaching us, this is the time of the year where theme parks and amusement parks all across America start to open up and it is time to start visiting and having a ball! Sure we’ve all heard of Disney World/Land, Universal Studios, California Adventures, and Hollywood Studios.

These are just a few of the most commonly known amusement parks in America and while these are all great parks and they are a blast to visit, I am someone that likes to try out new adventures and go places that I’ve never been to before. There are hundreds of theme parks all around the United States and some of them are absolutely amazing and they don’t get the proper recognition and praise that they deserve. Today I am going to be sharing with you 6 theme parks that are a little more on the uncommon side, underrated, or some you may have never even heard of.

1. Holiday World (Santa Claus, IN):

I don’t know about you, but when I hear about a city named Santa Claus, Indiana that sounds to me like a place I would want to visit! Holiday World is located in Santa Claus, Indiana along with it’s sister water park, Splashin Safari. This park is such a great time to visit because it is so unique. There are various themed parts of the park that are named after different holidays including Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and 4th of July and all of them have their awesome parts which makes Holiday World an absolute must when it comes to theme parks to visit.

2. Silver Dollar City (Branson, MO):

Branson, Missouri is commonly known as a truly family-friendly city in the United States. In Branson is the theme park Silver Dollar City. This is the perfect family-friendly theme park and it makes for a fun visit because everything is old-style themed.

3. Enchanted Forest (Salem, OR):

If you are a fairytale lover, the Enchanted Forest theme park is the one for you. This is such a fun park to visit because not only is there fun rides and roller coasters, but you can also shop and visit story book lane where you will get the experience of some of the most famous storybooks such as Alice in Wonderland, Humpty Dumpty, The Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe, and so many more!

4. Kings Island (Mason, OH):

Kings Island is such a fun park to visit. They have everything from your basic kiddie rides to some of the most aggressive and thrilling rides you can find. If you are someone who loves adventure and riding big roller coasters for the thrill, Kings Island is a great place to check out for you.

5. Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH):

Cedar Point is another one for those are seeking those adrenaline pumping, thrilling rides. Cedar Point is home to some of the most thrilling rides in the U.S. including the Top Thrill Dragster in which you reach 120 mph and go up to 420 ft high! Cedar Point is definitely for those that love that intensity and you can ride some of the best, record breaking roller coasters in the United States.

Kid’s Amusement Parks

If you’re looking to vacation somewhere that has a theme park, instead of going to one of the more well known parks try out some of these lesser known parks and I promise you will have an absolute blast, you may even like them better than some of your favorite more commonly known theme parks, who knows!
