If you aren’t lucky enough to live close to Disneyland, you will surely need a place to stay while you are there. Since the area is so heavily made for tourists, there are so many options and that can make it hard to figure out exactly which one will work for your family and your budget. Here are some tips for ways to save money on Disneyland accommodations to make trip planning a little cheaper.
Here are Our Ways to Save Money on Disneyland Accommodations:
Skip the Disney hotels
This one is probably a given but it is alluring to want to stay there especially if you can get a deal as a package from a travel agency. The truth is, though, you will easily spend a lot more to stay at these places, and honestly, there are hotels that are within short walking distance from the park that it isn’t worth the extra cash. Additionally, many hotels offer free shuttles to the park as well!
If you can’t forgo the Disney hotel experience, go off-season and look for discounts. The offseason is the best time to find deals up to 30 or 40% off for the resorts and for packages. My favorite site to shop around on is TripAdvisor.
Consider staying at a Bed and Breakfast
Sometimes, Bed and Breakfasts can be an excellent value, especially if you plan to go off-peak season. Generally speaking, they aren’t a good option for a large family, but a small one could easily find accommodations for less than $100 a night. When you throw in the breakfast that comes with these kinds of stays, this is a great deal.
Did you know there are several RV and campsites near the park or within close proximity so that it would only be a short drive? Many of these parks offer both tent and RV spots so if you are close enough to take your RV there, this may be an excellent option. You can also rent RVs for less than you would pay for a hotel per night.
Check out the “Good Neighbor” hotels
Disneyland has a bunch of hotels in different price ranges right across the street from the park that are affiliated with Disneyland and can offer some great packages for staying near the park on a more reasonable budget. These book up fast, though, so make sure to book early. Off the top of my head, a few are The Anaheim Hotel, Best Western Plus Pavillions, and the Desert Palms Hotel & Suites.
Check online for discounts and deals on places that are Disneyland Accommodations
Don’t just take the price these hotels tell you on the phone with reservations. Instead, go online and try to Google discounts with the name of the hotel and the word ‘discount’. Also, make sure to check out sites that are designed to save money on hotels such as Travelocity or Orbitz.
Utilize discounts already available to you
If you are military, some hotels offer discounts and Disneyland itself often does.
Be flexible with your dates when planning your trip. Prices can change week to week. Start planning early and jump on deals when you find them.
